Shiseido Makeup Perfect Rouge Limited Edition Shade at Nordstrom

Shiseido Artistic Director Dick Page has created a limited edition shade of Shiseido Makeup Perfect Rouge lipstick exclusively for Nordstrom.  Shiseido Makeup Perfect Rouge in Rose Bronze (RS799) is a soft rose toned lipstick with a delicate metallic pearl.  It will be available from March through June 2009 at Nordstrom with a suggested retail price of $25.

In addition, Dick Page has created a special "Bronze Beauty" look.  Here's how to get it:

Glimmering Bronze Smokey Eyes

• Apply Hydro Powder Shadow in Tiger Eye (H3) from lash to brow.
• On the back of your hand, mix Tiger Eye (H3) with a dab of the Accentuating Cream Eyeliner in Dark Brown (2), to create a deeper, lustrous shadow. 
• Apply and blend from upper lash line to the crease and also apply to lower lash line.

The Offense:  My current obsession ~ the spring makeup collections from Laura Mercier and Chanel. They are simply gorgeous.  From Laura Mercier, the Shy Violet quad is smokey, sultry.  And blue is all over this spring (did you see the SAG awards?) and no collection is more beautiful than Chanel.

The Defense: Have to go with skincare in this category. I'm giving the nod to Skinceutical C E Ferulic + Hydrating B5 Gel +Shiseido sunscreen.  We're fighting aging all the way!

Special Teams:  No coach would dare go on the field without the Shu Uemura eyelash curler and Fiber Extension Mascara.  You've been warned!

MVP:  There is only one MVP and for me, that has to be my Julie Hewett lip lush. This product has ruined me for lippies forever. Putting this on completely transforms my face. It feels wonderful on the lips.  I want one in every color!

Sunscreen in the Winter? Resolved!

As I read some of my favorite Beauty Blogs on New Year's Day, there was a recurring Resolution (mine included).  Being more diligent about applying sunscreen daily.  In terms of an anti-aging beauty product, sunscreen is one of your best bets.  Most dermatologists agree that sun exposure/damage is the leading cause of wrinkles.  So why is it so hard to add this one step into our beauty routine? After cleansing, sunscreen should be applied on top of an antioxidant product (if used), then followed by your makeup.  Some good sunscreens that protect against UVA/UVB rays are LaRoche-Posay Anthelios Fluide Extreme SPF 50 (this may not be the best choice if you're skin tends to be oily; check with your dermatologist); Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Creme SPF 55 (my favorite and the one I *try* to use daily) and L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise Revitalift UV Daily Moisturizing Cream with Sunscreen, SPF 15.  So as you're ringing in the New Year, remember....to turn back the clock, you need to use your sunscreen!  For more in-depth information on sunscreens, be sure to check out FutureDerm's blog!
