hairfreé™ Styling Brushes

Every now and then I try a product and think "That makes so much sense! Why haven't I heard of this before?" hairfreé™ styling brushes are the most recent example.  I had the opportunity to try hairfreé™ styling brushes and have been really impressed. 

There are two hairfreé™ styles available:  a Round brush and a Flat brush.  The brush has an ingenious self-cleaning design.  I love this feature, as cleaning a traditional hair brush is a gross but necessary chore.  You slide a button and a plate of the hair brush lifts the hair up.  You just remove it and the brush is clean.

The other feature I like is the ceramic technology used in the brush.  When you use a hairfreé™ styling brush with a hair dryer, you get similar results as if you used a curling iron or flat iron.  Only without the heat damage to your hair!  The only request I would make would be for smaller sizes of the brushes.  The brushes are quite large, making it a little more of a challenge to use if you have short hair.

Oscar Winner Kate Winslet: Get her Hair and Makeup Look!

Kate Winslet's hair was all the buzz on Twitter last night.  Personally, I loved it.  A total throwback to Old Hollywood glamour, as styled by Fredric Fekkai's Renato Campora.  And she continues to dazzle with makeup that is sheer perfection.  As a spokesperson for Lancôme, Kate Winslet has looked fabulous at each red carpet gala this season.

Inspiration:  A modern day Grace Kelly that compliments her total look and silhouette. A wavy texture with a dynamic shape.

How to get the look:  Start by applying FEKKAI More All Day Density Styling Whip on wet hair.  Blow-dry smooth with the FEKKAI Extra Large Round Brush to create some volume.  Then use a one inch curling iron and let it set for 20 minutes.  Brush it through and use the FEKKAI Coiff Magnifique Ultra Light Finishing Creme at the ends to help roll hair under.  Finish with FEKKAI Sheer Hold Hairspray.

The makeup:  Kate Winslet's makeup was stunning.  Celebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey wanted to create a classic, natural look.  First, she prepped Kate's skin with Lancôme La Base Pro primer to create a smooth canvas for a polished complexion.  She lightly brushed Lancôme Brow Expert in Naturel on the brows to play up their natural shape. 

Jillian Dempsey for Avon Pro Eyeshadow Trio in Ice Shimmer was applied to the eyes and the lashes were coated with Jillian Dempsey for Avon Pro Mascara in Black.  To create a sheer neutral colored lip, Lancôme Color Fever Lipstick in Old Flame was applied for a soft, matte finish.

Kate Winslet was definitely ready for her winning night at the Academy Awards!

Finish with a light spritz of new L'Oreal Studio Perfect Fix Ultra-Fine Finishing Hairpspray.  I received a can of this hairspray at the Total Beauty Blogger Summit and love the fact that it's non-sticky and has humidity protection.  And it doesn't build up (gross!).
